Introduction
Printing has been practiced since the eighth century in China, when wood blocks were used to reproduce Buddhist scriptures. As early as the 11th century, the Chinese employed movable type, although modern printing technologies trace back to Gutenberg’s rediscovery of movable type in the mid-1400s.
